Breaks Ground on New Location at 2534 Corridor in Johnstown
Johnstown, Colo., October 22, 2018 — Locally owned Lazy Dog Tavern, Elder Construction, and Infusion Architects celebrated breaking ground on Lazy Dog Tavern’s third location – opening in May 2019 at 2534 Corridor in Johnstown.
Plotted for the southwest corner of Hwy 34 and Thompson Parkway, the two-story building includes 8,000-square-feet of restaurant space, including rooftop patio dining. This building will house a family-friendly dining experience in the evening with efficient service for the lunch crowd during the day. Steve Ross, Owner, has always dreamed about owning his own bar/restaurant with the passion that moderately priced restaurants can and should give great service with great food. “I put my heart into this and think we deliver.”
Lazy Dog is the result of many years of thinking of how to create a warm, friendly, relaxed, high quality, great service neighborhood restaurant and do it in this Colorado paradise. “Our motto has always been ‘every drink, every meal, every customer, every time’ and we continue to honor that” – Steven Ross. Lazy Dog Tavern’s mission: #1 is to be a positive force in the neighborhoods we inhabit. #2 is to serve great food for reasonable prices and offer the best happy hour specials in Northern Colorado.
Lazy Dog has been operating restaurants in Boulder and Erie for over 21 years. They currently employ over 125 team members and plan to bring on 75 more to support this new Johnstown location. Business partners Steve Ross and Max McKay feel that Northern Colorado is their home. When asked why they chose this location, Steve Ross replied, “we like doing ‘neighborhoody’ type places, so Northern Colorado fit more into our sensibilities. We’ve been looking for a home in this area for a while and feel that a locally owned business would fit in much better than a chain restaurant. We realized there is going to be tremendous growth in the area as this seems like the absolute best place to live in all of the Colorado Front Range.”
Elder Construction (in Windsor) and Infusion Architects (in Loveland) are working with Lazy Dog Tavern to create an atmosphere that fosters their passion. The new building will feature a warm, friendly, relaxed but high-quality dining ambiance topped off with a rooftop patio with incredible views to the west.
