Day 8 – Project Linus – Elder’s Team Spreads ‘Blanket Hugs’ to Kids in Need in Northern Colorado

When you’re feeling scared, sick, or uncertain of the future something that makes you feel better is to cuddle up with a warm, soft, fuzzy blanket. At Project Linus their mission is to provide a sense of security, warmth, and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need, through the gift of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.” Over the past few weeks, our Elder team, friends, and families have come together to make 61 blankets for children in Northern Colorado. Project Linus will deliver these blankets to hospitals, behavior centers, child advocacy groups, funeral homes, and homeless shelters to be distributed to children in need of comfort.

Since their inception in 1995, Project Linus has distributed over 7 million blankets to children across the nation. Visit projectlinus.org to find more information, donate, or locate local chapters that can help you get involved!
