Employee Spotlight: Steve Kenyon, Project Manager

Steve Kenyon joined Elder Construction’s Colorado Springs team in July. Steve grew up in the construction industry and at a young age he learned the value of ‘measure twice, cut once’. It’s the details of construction that reinforce Steve’s passion for his job.  “I truly enjoy coordinating the complex details and situations of each project.  It’s rewarding to put a plan in place and then see the results by working the plan.” Steve has an infectious personality of sincere optimism that is an asset to everyone on his job sites, both clients and contractors alike.

“We are thrilled to have Steve as part of the Elder family,” said Austin, Elder’s Vice President of Construction Operations. “From my first interactions with Steve what really stood out to me was his passion and enthusiasm for construction. He just loves it. He loves the details and the problem solving.”  Before joining our team, Steve worked on many projects including DIA’s South terminal renovation in Denver, as well as CSU’s New Stadium in Fort Collins – Go Rams!

When asked to choose his favorite of Elder’s Core Values, Steve chose ‘Constantly Curious’. “I think this really aligns with my personality and what I enjoy most about construction. Regardless of the project size or contract value, there are always different ways of performing the work that will make the project a success. Outside the box thinking and willingness to take risks in some circumstances can be highly beneficial in this variable industry.”
