The Governor’s Award for Downtown Excellence: Poudre Garage – Fort Collins
The Governor’s Award celebrates the achievement of builders and architects that are dedicated to the revitalization of a community through their designs. We could not have been more thrilled to partner with [au]workshop architects+urbanist on a project that allowed us to use our creativity to combine the rich history of the art-deco style and add contemporary flare to make the use of the space more efficient.
It was formerly the home of the US Forest Services Department of Agriculture. You can still see the 1936 Emblem above the main doorway as you enter the now commercial and residential building. Though the building has transformed into more of a contemporary residential space, now called Poudre Garage Lofts you can still feel the historic charm.
