Leadership Role Passes to Next Generation at Elder Construction
WINDSOR — Chris Elder has been named president of Elder Construction, a family-owned business with offices in Windsor and Colorado Springs.
Chris has served as vice president and chief financial officer of the company for the past seven years. He replaces Tom Elder, who founded the company in 1994 and will become chairman of the board.
Tom Elder said the move is the next step in a succession plan that the company began developing seven years ago. Chris Elder will be in charge of the company’s day-to-day operations, while Tom will help maintain Elder’s client experience, investing time serving both community and industry groups.
“Chris has worked in the business his whole life,” Tom Elder said. “Since rejoining our company in 2010, he has concentrated on gaining the experience that will help him move Elder Construction forward in the coming decades.”
The change includes promotions for Austin Dodder to vice president of construction operations, Patrick Elder to vice president of business development and preconstruction services, and Jim Howard to general superintendent.
